Interview with Paul Cappuzzello and Gillian Harrison regarding the digital audiobook service from netLibrary
In January 2005 netLibrary and Recorded Books LLC launched a new digital audiobook service. The WMA (Windows Media Audio) files can be checked out, downloaded, listened to on a computer, and transferred to a portable playback device. Paul and Gillian will describe how the new service works and answer questions from Tom Peters, the interviewer, and from the audience.

Steve Benson of the Chicago Talking Book Center staff will present an overview of “the hero” as the subject in fiction and nonfiction. One for the Ages: Marketing Libraries to Baby Boomers and the Greatest Generation
Speakers include Barbara Mates, Head, Cleveland Public Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and Sharon Ruda, Director, Illinois State Library Talking Book and Braille Service. Barbara Mates has won several ALA awards for her excellent work in serving the senior population and has written a number of books and articles on the topic. This event is scheduled to last two hours.

Project HEALTHY: Dementia and Memory Loss
Dr. Ishani Ali, Director of the Geriatric Assessment Center in Peoria, Illinois, will discuss Alzheimers, Parkinson's disease, and other forms of memory loss. This program is part of Project HEALTHY, a series of online programs providing consumer health information of interest especially to senior citizens.
